Iracnory - Last female dragon

Back after 12 years :)

Iracnory is the last female dragon in this kingdom and she is pregnant.

Chased by the (evil) king and his knights willing to put an end to the Dragon Reign, Nin-yafa has the hard task to bring her to safer places so she can give birth to her dragonets/baby-dragons and maintain the dragon race.
Been a while I could do some personal work again

Hi guys!

First of all I’d like to say how happy I’m to be invited to this amazing blog. Unimaginable! I’ve been following it for a while now and I am always knocked out by the talent of the artists who post here and the quality of their artworks.

I’ll try in the next days and weeks to post some new and unreleased drawings and concepts but I’ll start with some oldies in order to introduce myself.

Finely got some free time to wip up some quickies. These were rally fun, I was trying to work abstractly with some extra attention to color, value and atmosphere and I stayed away from photos and just relied on memory and some rules.

Here are a couple teaser images for our up and coming game at Robot Ent. The game is called Orcs Must Die! Below is a concept for the main character, the War Mage. The Ogre Attack is an image that the art department put together in 3D and I did some paint over work to help it "pop".

Prison Planet Concepts

Recently I contributed to an ongoing 6 part tutorial series on the pipeline of concept art in video games. The series is comprised of environments, characters and vehicles/props. I was lucky enough to work with two powerhouse artists in the game world, Thomas Pringle and Craig Sellars. I came up with the game idea and basically the 3 artists just went to town! Thomas did environments, Craig did the vehicles and I did the character tutorial section. Here are some of the images that are included in the magazine spread...

Unholy Grail

This Grail enables vampires to drink their own blood in extremes circumstances.Very painfull solution and only used as last resort when there are no unwilling victims around.

Part of a picture I've done a while ago and which I overpainted for the ImagineFX Q&A section on how to paint vampire hands.

My apologies for not posting that much lately.Having a lot of things on my plate lately.

I will soon join Ubisoft in Montreal and so with my little family we are in the middle of our move from Belgium to Canada.
Actually emptying our house and I never thought I could have collected so much crap the last 20 years,:-?
The good thing about it is I found back my old Eric.B & Rakim tapes, great ridiculous sunglasses from the 80's and my Yoda handpuppet!:D

Here are some character thumbs I did lately for a commision I can show now.
Still got tons and tons of them but will post them later on.

Another warmup gone too far. I love to fill a page until there's absolutely no room left for any other character-these sometimes look like collages. I kept returning to this page in between Darkstalkers pencils. Before warmup sketchin I was lookin' through Joe Mad's Ultimates comic(pencils version) so if you recognize that Venom that's why ;)

The Venom in Black is probably also inspired by Mad's but drawn on another day.

I did these Bishamon studies before I started pencilling the Darkstalkers pages. I used a cheap bic pen Carmine Red, Light Blue and Blue Col Erase that I switched between for this page. Kinda works since Bishamon is mainly those colours anyways.

Werewolf + ninja = pure awesomesauce of Talbain.

My good buddy Dax has been on a chibi kick-and it's infectious.

Once I started I couldn't stop-maybe they remind me of the old flour sack

of Sheridan animation assignments back in the day?

Here's Viper in Chibi and Kawaii styles

"kawaii: An adjective in Japanese meaning " pretty; cute; lovely; charming; dear; darling; pet" It's stem is two kanji meaning "can love". It is commonly used by anime and manga fans."

I don't know if its the same with you guys but, when i make a new brush i can't get away from using it exclusively on a new canvas.

i made a new brush this morning, and used it for my morning warmup. the painting ended up pretty muddy and meh, but the it was all about the brush.
i left the sample on the left for anyone interested in seeing it (i'm sure everyone has an equivalent if not the same one kicking around), the spacing flow and texture was a lotta fun playing with. but the fine details were a pain in the ass, it didn't like being painted with when it was any smaller than 10.
