Early character concepts for Borderlands

Here are some early concepts I did for Borderlands when I was at Gearbox.
I haven't played full game yet so I don't know if any of these characters are in the game.

The Buoyant Future

Here are two images I've had sitting around for awhile that are quite a bit different than my usual and were good fun to experiment with. I'm happy to say I learned a great deal from these images. I've got a few more I'd like to share with you soon, but they need another coat of polish and the majority of my time these days is dedicated to the job hunt so it may take some time.

SketchUp and Photoshop Tutorial for 2d artist magazine.
Oh man, i've been so excited and terrified about posting some of my work up with the likes of you guys. Seriously this blog is oozing talent, and here I am diluting the pool.

thanks for having me and I really look forward to learning from some of the industry's best!

I figured I post up a warm up sketch from this morning, his name is Count Von Pirannus

you can see this in the 2 disc transformers 2 special edition.

Busy week for posts on the Nation!

I haven't posted here for what seems like a year or so, and it's amazing how many incredibly talented people have come to this blog.

Absolutely amazing!

I thought I would put up a couple of the pieces that I have finished up in the last couple months. The first was a model that I started 2 years ago off of a concept from a buddy of mine while we were at Ensemble Studios on a prototype project. Andy Cotnam did the concept and you check out the image here. The project never went forward, and either did the model for 2 years... but I always loved the concept, and I was determined to finish it.

The other was an image I did for out most recent post on Art Bot Central (the artist blog over at Robot Entertainment). Like C. Moffitt, I chose to do the Baroness.

Well, that's it from me. Until next time,

Bears, Beets and BattleStar

Howdy all! This is my first post here but I've been lurking behind the scenes since this wonderful site got started. (I like to watch)
I promised B that I would stop being anti-social and start posting some of my work, but since I cant show any of the new work yet, you will all have to suffer through my old stuff.

Another dimension, another dimension!

What's up guys? So I asked Bart a long time ago if I could be a part of the Nation because I really wanted to get better at 2D but every time I would go to draw something, I hated it and ended up wanting to model it instead. (figerin' out perspectuv an' paintin' light an' shadows is HARD) So he convinced me to put some of my 3D stuff up here. Some of this stuff is older but I have some new stuff that I will post up soon.

I can't believe some of the paintings you guys put up. My jaw drops with every post. I don't know how you do it without using 3D software. Insane!

I'm a stupid idiot fat face stupidhead

Hey all. Brilliant work being posted here. Time for me to drop the quality level a bit and bring back a sense of mediocrity into your lives.
Here's some images that have recently been released. Thanks for looking and any crits are always welcome .

Working Illo's

Hey guys and gals...for those that share other blogs with me, I am sorry for the redundancy, but I am so happy to finally get to show these. NDA's are tough, because when they finally get around to dropping, the artist has already moved on and grown a bit. Having said that, I am glad these get to see the light of day. I hope you enjoy! The Zombies were done for an ERS calendar ( it is for sale here if you are interested ERSCalendar) and the last five were done for ShadowRun. Best! -C.R.
